band: Cosmic Cold War
STICK SIZE: 7BR
I started playing drums at the age of 16, in my home town of Caracas, Venezuela. Back then my main influences were anything fast and heavy, plus a lot of Nu-Metal. I had a pretty prosperous career as a metal drummer in my country, most notably supporting Ill Nino with one of my bands at the time.
After moving to Europe I lived in Dublin for about a year and played drums for Two Tales of Woe, a super well established Doom metal band. This definitely made me appreciate slower tempos and a different style of writing. Whilst in Dublin I managed to tour a couple of times and play a good few shows with TTOW – a highlight would be supporting Napalm Death at Low End Fest in 2009.
Now in London I’ve been very lucky to join my current band, Cosmic Cold War. This is a project that was developed during lockdowns and has now finally taken shape as a fully-fledged band. We incorporate different styles of metal and rock but mostly focus on a more progressive approach to our music. 2022 has seen CCW release two music videos for our singles Absolute Zero and Shimmer, both having received very positive critiques from industry experts. The aim now is to take the show on the road and hit as many corners of the UK and Europe as we can.
WHY DO YOU PLAY COLLISION?
At the moment I’m playing Collision 5BRs, which are great for my style of playing due to the added reach they offer. Besides this the durability and build quality is definitely a stand out. I definitely feels like these sticks will go the distance, even for a hard-hitting drummer like myself. I’d recommend Collision Drumsticks to any drummer looking for a quality product that’s made with the drummer in mind first and foremost.
