ARTIST PROFILE
I’m Aaron from Nebula State. I originally started playing the piano when I was 5, but I got invited to take drum lessons when I turned 8 and I’ve never looked back. I very quickly got into playing the likes of Green Day and loved 2000’s alternative punk. I worked on my grades, up to Grade 8 and studied GCSE’s and A-levels in Music Production and Performance. Following this, I was very interested in joining a like-minded group or band, to stay in the scene. I played in a number of bands, ranging from covers to 80’s glam metal until a family friend mentioned that Nebula State were looking for a drummer. I went for an audition and things took off from there. Recently we have played supporting INAIR, Witch Tripper and a number of other Midlands metal bands. We’ve also scored a management deal with Spitfire records, run by Conor Peek of Cabin Boy Jumped Ship. Looking to the future, we are aiming to do an international tour of Ukraine in 2020 and another UK tour supporting Cabin Boy.
WHY DO YOU PLAY COLLISION?
Since I first heard of Collision and decided to try them I have been exclusively using the 5AR sticks. I found the idea of extra length novel and wanted to see if they held up to their brand recommendation of being used for metal, and I’m so glad I did. They’re weighty enough that it’s not too hard to get that extra power but not too heavy that they’re tiring to play. I can comfortably manage full sets and rehearsals without feeling as though I need a break.
My favourite thing about the Collision brand is the vast amount of options they provide. Pair this with the incredible sticks that are made and you’ve got yourself a winning deal. I love the fact that I am able to purchase sticks with my bands logo printed on to them, as well as unique length options like the aforementioned 5AR, it all goes to create a brand that I wouldn’t want to go back from.
I can wholeheartedly say that I recommend Collision as a brand, and feel privileged to be part of this growing community.
