ARTIST PROFILE
Asher Blum
Philadelphia/PA/United States
band: Session Drummer
STICK SIZE: 5A
My name is Asher Blum and I am 16 years old. I’ve been playing the drums for over 10 years and enjoy playing a plethora of music from progrock, classic, R&B, pop, hip hop, and jazz. Over the past 3 years I have toured with Jon Anderson of Yes, have played with Gibby Haynes of the Butthole Surfers, and have had many other experiences while drumming with the Paul Green Rock Academy. While touring with Jon Anderson, I’ve played at sold out venues and music festivals in the United States including Rosfest in Florida and at The Egg in New York. I also played at the Meltasia Festival in New York with Gibby Haynes. In addition to playing with PGRA, I recently started my own band, Poster Child. We are a cover band playing classic rock, progrock, R&B, and pop hits. So far, we have played at a few charity events and have plans to play at larger events in the near future.
My goal as a drummer is to inspire people the way Carter Beauford (Dave Matthews Band), Bill Bruford (Yes), and John Bonham (Led Zeppelin) have inspired me. I want people to feel good, connect with each other, and have a good time when listening to my music.
WHY DO YOU PLAY COLLISION?
I play with Collision 5A sticks. The best parts of the Collision Drumsticks brand are the sticks and the drumming community Collision has created. The sticks are incredibly durable, smooth, and perfectly weighted. Collision sticks don’t break and splinter like the other sticks I have used. In addition, the weight and feel of the Collision 5A sticks are the most comfortable sticks I have played with. The Collision Drumsticks community has been an excellent place to connect and learn from other drummers from around the World. I’ve gotten ideas and have seen different techniques from watching and listening to the other amazing drummers endorsed by Collision. I would highly recommend Collision sticks to drummers on all levels, playing different types of music who want to play their best and get a crisp and strong sound out of their drums.
