ARTIST PROFILE
I am from Boulder Colorado and started playing drums in the 5th grade. I quickly discovered Mitch Mitchell’s drumming in The Jimi Hendrix Experience. This launched my life long love for music and drumming. When I graduated high school and went of to college I started to play regular gigs and study music. I played in mostly jazz groups and indie rock groups. However, now I am fortunate enough to have found players who like me do not conform to any genera and want to push the boundaries of improvisational and experimental music. These players were Josh Mundt on guitar and Michael Rinko on bass. This was when my band The Udder was born. We play what we call radical music, the only way to describe it is to listen to it. Our main influence is probably John Zorn, but even then we are really trying to do our own thing. While this band is my true passion, I still play lots of freelance gigs. I play jazz around Boulder and Denver as well as blues and rock music. Along with Collision Drumsticks, I am also a member of the Soultone Cymbal family. Shred on my friends!
WHY DO YOU PLAY COLLISION?
I play 5As, 5ARs, and occasionally 7As. My favorite things about these sticks are their versatility and cymbal definition. The beads on the end of these sticks sound better on cymbals than any other stick I have tried, and they last a super long time.
