BAND: Tall City // Loco Motives
STICK SIZE: 7A
At the age of 7, I was introduced to KISS which would become the shaping of my musical taste and desire to play the drums. I would “air drum” along to everything that Peter Criss would do.
At the age of 16, I received My first “garage sale” kit. It wasn’t until later in life, when my kids were grown and out on their own, that I became more serious about playing drums. With the influence of Peter Criss, Frankie Banali, Nicko McBrain and Tommy Lee, I found my direction.
I am based in Big Spring, Texas and current drummer with the regional Texas bands Tall City and Loco Motives playing a wide variety of genres. I have recently discovered I also have a voice, lending background vocals to both bands. My top moment was playing as local support for RATT in 2019!
WHY DO YOU PLAY COLLISION?
As a drummer playing in two bands in multiple genres, I have two different stick sizes in regular use.I play 7A (Funk, Pop and Classic Rock) as well as 5BR (80s Hard Rock). The added length on the 5BR is exactly what I needed when playing big on a big kit.
I have tried drumsticks from the many brands that we have all used. Collision Drumsticks stand out to me in three different respects.
First, the feel when playing is well balanced and fluid. I have been known to drop a stick or two in the past. For some unknown reason, I have yet to drop a Collision Drumstick.
Second, the durability is top notch. These stick can take a beating! In my experience, Collision Drumsticks have outlasted other brands on a consistent basis.
Third, the company itself. I have been very impressed by the strong business ethics, product support and attention to the artist needs that Collision Drumsticks has put at the forefront of their thinking.
For these reasons, I would highly recommend Collision Drumsticks to any drummer playing any style of music.
