Well I started drumming when I was around 12 and it immediately became something of an obsession. My first major milestone was joining Stigmata, one of Sri Lanka’s biggest Progressive Metal bands. One of the major highlights of my time with them was playing for an audience of 30,000+ in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
I continued to play Metal with the Progressive-Death metal band Neurocracy from 2016-2018. Around this time I also got into Drum N Bass and formed the duo Mad Scientist. During this era I became acquainted with hybrid-drumming, combining electronic components to an acoustic kit.
I decided to commit to drumming full-time in 2019 and was soon playing 3-5 shows a week in some of Sri Lanka’s most popular venues.I’m now a part of Spirited, an incredibly expansive psychedelic/Fusion project that combines music from a bounty of genres from Alternative Rock to Reggae to Psytrance to create healing music at 432hz.
WHY DO YOU PLAY COLLISION?
The Collision Drumsticks 5B Reach series has been an absolute game changer for me.
For starters, they are the most durable drumsticks I’ve ever used, I mean seriously. Usually a few rim shots will easily chip away at a stick, but I find myself astonished by how even after many hours they seem hardly used…and they’re wood! I also love the extra length because it helps me navigate the kit with ease and not compromise my fulcrum for extra…drum roll reach.
My favourite thing about Collision Drumsticks has to be the whole sense of community that is truly embodied by the brand. To me the energy of the brand and the people within is built on positivity which is very cool.
I recommend Collision Drumsticks for the sheer quality of the product, and the invigorating culture of the brand. It’s almost like anyone who gets a pair of Collision Drumsticks is immediately a member of the community, which is remarkable.
