band: Dumb Bats
STICK SIZE: 5AR
My name is Cornelius, and I’m the drummer with Dumb Bats, from Stuttgart, Germany. I started playing drums in Boston MA, where I was lucky enough to have Dave Dicenso (Cro Mags, Shelter) as my one and only drum teacher. That led me to play in a number of punk bands in Boston, playing at venues like the Middle East and O’Briens, opening for Channel 3, Hatebreed, the Murder Junkies and more. I later ventured to the Southern US, opening for Rev. Horton Heat and Koffin Kats, and playing at famous venues like Nashville’s Layla’s Bluegrass Inn and the Stage. Over the years I’ve been lucky to play on a number of EPs and full length records, under the watchful eye of producers such as David Minehan (Replacements/Neighborhoods) and Joe Queer (The Queers). My current band, Dumb Bats are an action rock band inspired by Turbonegro (and two band members are part of the Turbojugend!), Gluecifer, Hellacopters, Cockney Rejects, Iron Maiden, Joy Division, Stooges, NY Dolls, and 70’s punk rock. We’ve been lucky enough to play alongside bands like Upploppet (Sweden), Christmas (Germany), Fuel N Stuff (Germany), Slowkiss (Chile) and are working on a full length release from our homebase in Stuttgart, Germany. We continue to play festivals and clubs all over Germany.
WHY DO YOU PLAY COLLISION?
I currently play Collision 5A Reach sticks. I love the balance and added length of these sticks – It really helps for those parts that need not only speed, but consistently solid stick work. It’s also nice to have sticks that you know aren’t just going to randomly shatter in the middle of a song! If you’re looking for a stick that is going to help give you a unique edge, and that has both audio and manufacturing consistency, you’ll find it with Collision.
