band: Wax Futures
STICK SIZE: 5A
I started playing drums when I was 16. My mates punk band was struggling to find a drummer and I offered to play for them despite never playing before and just loved it and picked it up pretty quickly and I’ve always tried to push myself to play whatever I felt the music needed. I’ve played in a number of bands over the years including Dead Pleasures, Fish Bowl Riot, A Pig Called Eggs, Vulgar Latin, Siblings of Samhain and currently Wax Futures, which is my main band. We’ve supported IDLES, Slow Crush, Gouge Away, Phoxjaw and most recently Jamie Lenman. We’re on the roster of a Birmingham based promoter and record label called Die Das Der. We were recently played on BBC Radio Shropshire and then our single ‘Never Here’ got passed onto and played out BBC Radio 1’s Introducing show and we were nominated for Best Single, Best Music Video and Best Band at the Shropshire Music Awards and ended up winning Best Band. Wax Futures have been going since 2011, have released a number of singles and EP’s and are currently writing new material for our first full length album.
