Hey Everyone! My name is Devan, but everyone knows me as Detao. I have been drumming for roughly two years, and what an amazing two years that it has been! My primary genres I drum for are Post-Hardcore, Pop-Punk, and Metalcore. In 2023, I was the drummer for a touring band. During this time, I met my fiancé who is also a vocalist. My band and I mutually agreed that I should pursue my passion and dreams and we parted ways on good terms. My fiancé and I then formed our band, In Truth They Lie. We are a Post-Hardcore / Pop-Punk band from Jacksonville, Florida, led by my very own fiancé, Anderson Klay. We quickly became a popular band within our city, and then our state, booking shows in the majority of the surrounding cities. Our band was formed on the same general unspoken principals that Collision carries as well, people, artists, and passion first. These three core values has accelerated our growth exponentially, granting us many fantastic opportunities. Our music is our passion, with lyrics that are deeply designed in real-life experiences of both my fiancé and I. We believe music should make you feel, and help people heal. We hope to reach people who feel like we have felt, and to let them know that they are not alone in what they are going through.
