ARTIST PROFILE
I have always had a keen interest in music and started playing the drums at the age of 11. I went on to become a graduate of both Leeds College of Music and The Sound Training College in Dublin. While based in Dublin I played with a 10-piece disco act called Le Freak, with whom I played at numerous festivals throughout Ireland.
In 2017 I embarked on a different path by joining Derry alt/punk band The Wood Burning Savages. We have been fortunate enough to tour with acts including Therapy?, Skinny Lister and support huge bands such as Snow Patrol and Death From Above in the two years since I joined the band. In the summer of 2019 we played at Billy Bragg’s ‘Leftfield’ stage at Glastonbury and played at other festivals including 2000 Trees and Vestrock in the Netherlands.
We are currently working the follow up to our debut album ‘Stability’, for which we picked up the 2018 Northern Irish Music Prize for Album of the Year along with the award for Best Live Act.
WHY DO YOU PLAY COLLISION?
The Collision drumsticks that I use are the 5AR. I love how supportive the team at collision are towards their artists and how they encourage and inspire up-and-coming bands as well as more well known artists.
I would recommend Collision drumsticks as they are Incredibly durable and give a mighty sound!
