Giuliano di Roma, Italy
band: session drummer
STICK SIZE: 2B
I started to play the drums at the age of 15 and took lessons for 10 years.
When I was 16/17, I had my first music experiences with garage bands, playing covers from other bands that I like.
Then, I decided to make a good study path to improve my technique and to grow as a professional drummer. So, I started studying seriously, following the methods of great drummers and participating in events, masterclasses and intensive training courses, with drummers such as Matt Garstka, Claus Hessler, Massimo Russo, Dom Famularo and many others. I successfully participated in a course on movement techniques held by Massimo Russo with final exam held by Dom Famularo. I’m constantly working on myself to grow as a drummer and as a person. Being part of the Collision family will speed up this process!
WHY DO YOU PLAY COLLISION?
The sticks that I have been using in the last months playing an average of 3 hours a day (between pad and drums) are the 2B model from Collision Drumsticks.
Material: The material of the sticks is excellent! We are talking about hickory wood, a standard in the world of drumsticks for which there is no doubt. Very resistant and after a month there are not many signs of wear on the wood, 10/10
Durability: After a month of use, playing every day on both the pad and the drums, the sticks still look new! The only obvious sign of wear is the partial cancellation of the logo due to sweat from the hands. 10/10
Balance: I can say that I was pleasantly surprised by Collision which, despite the slightly longer length of the stick, managed to maintain a good overall balance. 9/10
Tip: Finally a 2B stick with an acorn tip! (as I like it). The acorn tip manages to produce a more precise, dry and controlled sound than the oval tip.
The difference is very subtle, but it’s still a detail that works in Collision’s favor. 10/10
Finish: the Natural finish allows for an excellent grip on the stick even for those suffering from excessive sweating. 9/10
Finally, the Collision 2Bs are passed with flying colors!
They certainly have nothing to envy to the “big” brands, and it is a brand that I would undoubtedly recommend trying to anyone who asks me for advice. Thanks to Collision.
