ARTIST PROFILE
Nick Pappalardo began his extensive music career on Long Island, New York. He started playing drums early on while attending grammar school right through high school. He played in the Concert band and progressed right into Marching Band. Nick began playing drums in various original and cover bands throughout the New York Tri-State area club scene starting in the ‘80’s right up until today. He is currently playing drums in the original psych/Garage band “The Cheap Vibes”, as well as a newly formed original band with jazz and progressive roots called “Shapes of Force”. “The Cheap Vibes” have released 2 records on “Not Aloud Records” and both are available on all streaming platforms. “Shapes of Force” are in the studio recording their first set of songs, with one single already available on all streaming services as well. Both bands are based in NJ. Prior to joining “The Cheap Vibes” he played the New Jersey music scene as the drummer in the “194” band. He also continues as a “fill in as needed drummer” for other northern NJ bands. His experience in this demanding role has helped him adjust to a very hectic rehearsal and performance schedule.
WHY DO YOU PLAY COLLISION?
1. The quality of the drumstick is outstanding
2. The overall feel of the stick in hand is comfortable
3. The weight and shape is great
4. They last forever!
I play 5B as I like a fatter, heavier stick for feel. I’m not a super hard hitting drummer, I just love the feel of a the feel of 5B’s. Gives me a more confident and comfortable feeling when going on stage. Collision Drumsticks is not only a company that makes and sells drumsticks, they are a company that takes pride in their relationships with their artists and customers. I love the fact that we are a family and community rather than just artists or just customers. Collision appreciates our feedback and ideas. It doesn’t get any better than that. I wholeheartedly would recommend Collision Drumsticks to anyone who wants to feel like they are appreciated and respected as an artist and musician.
Nick considers himself a “time” sensitive drummer. Always in the pocket and never “over-plays”. Nick proudly plays and endorses both Collision Drumsticks and Soultone Cymbals.
