band: Reform in Ruin
STICK SIZE: 5B // 5BR
I have been playing drums for 24 years. Picking up my love for percussion started by watching my cousin play in the high school pep band and at home. After insisting on playing, I became the lead of drumline as a freshman in high school.
Throughout high school and college, I played with a few local cover bands and got my own groove and own style of playing. I enlisted in a pop punk band after college and was touring the Midwest for about 6 years. Spawning a full length album and a very good idea of how the small side of the business worked.
Fast forward to 2020. Reform in Ruin wrote their first five track EP. Along with Vocalist Matt Ortiz, guitarist Travis Richardson, and Bassist Adam Gordy. Releasing the EP in early 2021 we toured in the greater Kansas Metal scene and are getting more and more traction daily. More content and songs are in the works. WHY DO YOU PLAY COLLISION?
I have had the pleasure to review both the 5B and 5BR sticks for my current use. Both feel very lightweight and soft. The softness was a first red flag but was put to rest after extended use. While they are lighter and softer than the competitors, they are tough and durable. It helps with fast fills and gives more of a test on my grips while grooving. I have already recommended the use of the Collision brand and will dedicate these as the brand I consider #1.
