Hi, I am Wayne Harper and I play stand up drums for Jane Rose & The Deadends. I have been playing for about 22 years and always played standing up. It has a few notable changes from those drummers that sit, but it’s the way I love to play, music always makes me move and dance around, this way, I can dance around and jump about a lot more than if i was sat on a drum throne. We are a 4 piece high energy neo-rockabilly/blues/rhythm & blues band from Nashville, Tennessee USA. Jane Rose & The Deadends band (Previously known as The Deadend Boys) has been around since 2010, tearing up venues with her powerhouse vocals and no nonsense attitude. Using and utilizing some of Nashville’s finest musicians along the way. The current lineup has been together for over 3 years now and the has continued to impress, gather new fans worldwide and go from strength to strength, In June we were mentioned in the British based “Vintage Rock Magazine” as – Number 1 Hot Prospect of the hottest up and coming artists. Jane Rose herself has been nominated a couple of times for an Ameripolitan award, most recently for “Best Rockabilly Female” She is endorsed by Gretsch Guitars and plays a Magenta Sparkle Brian Setzer Hot Rod Model Gretsch. “Evil” Steve Schaffner slings a big orange Reverend Horton Heat model 6120 Gretsch guitar all whilst sporting his iconic dastardly mustache and goatee, Lana Gibbens is a 6+ feet tall blonde bombshell that slaps an upright bass around like it owes her money. It is truly an honor to play with 3 such talented musicians and it’s always a lot of fun. We play several car shows and festivals from coast to coast across the U.S.A. Opening for international acts such as the Guana Batz, The Delta Bombers, Reverend Horton Heat, Junior Brown to name but a few. Recently we had our first European tour in England and we we cant wait to get back there and beyond next year!
WHY DO YOU PLAY COLLISION?
I play Collision 5A sticks, my favorite thing about these sticks is how long they last, they have a great balance to them too, no more fraying of the shaft of the stick due to rim shots and no more tips splitting or breaking off! I highly recommend these sticks to anyone from beginner to experienced professional, jazz to hard core. These sticks rock and rock and then keep rocking!
