    I just wanted to write a small review on my stick of choice within the Collision Drumstick range. I am currently using the Collision 5B stick and have been for circa 2 1/2 years and I’m going to explain my choice to you. The 5B stick in my opinion provides a balanced, highly durable stick that also has a lightweight property that provides a benefit to myself. I have have always played hard and heavy over my 40yr journey as a hobbyist, semiprofessional drummer. Recording tracks, live gigging and rehearsing it fits the bill perfectly. My stick bag has sticks with chipped tips and some heavy marks but I have never had a stick actually break whilst playing. As a sufferer of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome the lightweight feel of the 5B puts less pressure on my wrists whilst playing. Put these sticks up against other top of the range stick manufacturers they have stood up to a heavy playing schedule and have surpassed my expectations and would never look at another stick to use moving forward in my playing career.

    Finally had a chance to check out these 5B sticks. Good weight and well matched. Slightly different ballance to the sticks I had been using previously, due to the taper to the tip. I have to say they stood up well to the abuse I gave them. Mainly playing rimshots can take a toll on sticks but after a few hours they were still going. Impressive.

    I wasn’t sure what to expect as this is the most expensive pair of sticks I’ve purchased when you factor in the shipping costs. It also took a month to get them, thanks to Customs holding them for three weeks.

    Regardless of the price and wait, these may be the best sticks I’ve ever used. I play in practice and live performance regularly and most of my go-to sticks don’t hold up in just a few shows. I use wood tips and most sticks will have these tips chipped off in two to three shows, making it difficult to execute roll rudiments. Those tips are bigger than the ones on Collision’s 5B standard. Collisions have lasted six straight performances without chipping. The smaller tips also allow diddles and rolls to be played effortlessly.

    There are many more factors that make Collision sticks a sought-after item, but most notably it’s the weight and feel. It’s well-balanced, not too heavy, and with the natural finish, I feel like I can start playing or simply warming up without waiting for heat to activate wax. Unlike other brands, these feel like a natural extension of my hands.

    For years I have played 5B sticks from various brands including signature versions, always looking for that perfect balance and the ability to not only deliver a strong and powerful attack, but also a soft touch when needed while maintaining the balance and feel. I also play in situations that are very different from one another.
    I purchased several pair to try them out. At first I was admittedly a bit concerned about the slightly smaller tip and slender taper because I sometimes played forward heavy sticks. After a few rounds they have now become my ‘go to’ sticks. The balance and feel have won me over in all situations and I even noticed a positive difference coming through my ears. The added bonus is the durability…not sure why but they simply last longer.

    Ive often had problems with the right sticks. Balance weight and durability is not something that can be found easily, especially when you are a heavy hitter. Previously i had been using vic firth sticks but now with the collision sticks being of such good quality, i wont be going back.     Very surprised by the durability of these. I play at an (almost) flat angle on the snare with a lot of rims hits. I was a little skeptical with my first order. They felt a bit light for 5B’s. I feared that they used cheaper material. But, thise fears were quickly put to bed. After ther 3rd (3 hour) show, these sticks show very little wear or damage in the area that hits the rim the most. Very impressed!
